Eating Healthy: "You Are What You Eat"

One of our favorite snacks to eat is Perky O ’s cereal. It’s an easy, mess-free snack that you can take anywhere. Perky O’s are made of whole grains, which help keep our hearts and bodies strong. Perky O’s are also made without the most common allergens. They are made without peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, wheat or gluten. More kids our age are developing food allergies, so our mom doesn’t expose us to common allergens such as peanuts or fish, because eating certain foods too early can actually cause allergies. Since our mom has nut allergies, we are also at high risk for developing those same allergies, as well as ashtma.

When we turn three, our mom will slowly start to introduce us to foods like fish and nuts. This will give us the best chance to develop a strong immune system and live a life without allergies or asthma. The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology recommends introducing wheat, milk, citrus and soy after age 1, eggs after age 2, and peanuts and fish after age 3.

My mom also loves Perky O ’s as a snack because it’s made without any preservatives or artificial ingredients. Of course it tastes even better when we eat it out of our Dora snack cup.
